Why navigation without GPS is our first application

Satellite navigation is increasingly jammed, spoofed and denied. A passive magnetic reference, which reads the Earth's own field and needs no external signal, adds a layer that does not depend on satellites.

Measuring weak magnetic fields as a full vector, at room temperature, is what nitrogen-vacancy centres in diamond do well.
